We finally made it home again! After being gone for over ten years we finally found our way back home. It may not look like much to some but this is where we raised our five children and our memories together exist. I only regret the misfortune of the prior owners that made them go into a foreclosed home state. But without there misfortune we could have never have afforded to come home.

This may be a 200 year old house but we have so enjoyed our life here. There has been many instances of hauntings in this house but we do not mind. There is plenty of room for all of us. There has been two female deaths in this house since my husband has owned it. One was his first wife and the other was my mother. I know my mothers essence is still present and she has been waiting for me here. I too shall die in this house more than likely.

Maybe the previous owners did not understand what is involved in living with people that live in a different realm. It has never bothered us much. The only thing is sometimes the air gets a little negative but not normally. Usually this house feels full of life and the age adds to its character. Since the children have grown and moved out the house has become much more friendly. I think that the energy that the teenagers brought to this house made it more unsettled.

Also we bought this house back so cheap since it was a foreclosed home that we can afford to live here even after retirement. Living in a retirement community would cost us way more than we are paying here. The house is set up so that we can close off parts of the house and still have plenty of room to live. The house is set up with an apartment upstairs so that we can have a rental if we so choose, but right at the moment that does not sound like a good idea. Our grandchildren or future great grandchildren may live here if they like, but not a complete stranger.

Well I am just rambling now so I think I should close. I just wanted to keep certain people up to date as to our living situation and to let them all know that we made it back to our home sweet home. Please feel free to stop by. We always have enough for dinner.

Sorry for not posting for such a long time but I have not been available for quite some time. There has been a couple of moves since my last post. I have definitely been around the block but it looks like we are finally going home. Back to Nuttal’s Place!

I must admit I totally forgot about this web site and have been just sitting on it. Now I can start posting since I really have never used it yet. This is already half way through 2008 and I just found this site.

A lot has happened in the past couple of years and I have a new grandson that I spend a great deal of time with. He is so sweet and I am so excited for my youngest daughter to have such a beautiful baby boy.

My husband and I are so excited to be moving back home finally. We welcome the ghosts that live in the house and all. We love our haunted house and plan on living out the rest of our lives there. It may seem like a big ol’ house to some but it has always been our home and our children’s home. Even the kids are happy as hell that we are moving back.

Everyone is anxiously awaiting all those family gatherings around the big kitchen and the Holidays filled with family gatherings. Since we gave all our belongings away when we downsized to a trailer, we have been picking up all the furniture we can find. It will be a busy summer settling in.

The house is in pretty bad shape. The last owners did not take very good care of it and lost the house and foreclosed. It is taking longer than expected to close on the house. There are a lot of things to take care of before the house can pass FHA inspection. The house has been stripped pretty much. When people say “everything was taken but the kitchen sink” well…. even the kitchen sink was gone.

Buying a foreclosed house is a big savings to the buyer but a lot of the responsibility on bringing the house up to code falls on the buyer instead of the seller. There has been a build up of mold in the downstairs bedroom due to the house being shut up for so long with no utilities running. The well is not working and a new well needs to be put down. The fixtures need replacing and electrical needs work. The wood stove in the back room has been replaced with a different stove that has no name on it and the insurance company is having an issue with that. We still do not know the shape of the furnace or the hot water heater.

The house inside is filthy. All the carpets need deep cleaning. the floors and walls are nasty and the fixtures need extreme sanitizing.

But all and all, we are going home. It will be good and we will be good. I will keep you updated on our progress and get some photos up as soon as I can.

Hey Welcome to Nuttall’s Place! I am now an official blogger. I hope this is what you all have been bugging me about because now I am on my way. Hopefully this will keep us all up to date on each others lives. Being the head Nutt I guess it is up to me to relay all the family news.

Thanks Tom for helping me to set this up or I would have been totally lost. You all know how inept I am at this computer stuff!

Now that I have this in front of me I really do not know what I am supposed to say. All is quiet on the home front and as soon as I can figure out the picture thingy I will be getting some of the family photos up.

I plan on emailing some of you that live far away and let you know how to find this blog. For those that I miss I will try to get to you by X-Mas. Most of the kids already have this site address and have just been waiting for me to look stupid and make this post.
